2001 - present: Ph.D. student; subject: "Framework for Adaptivity in Peer-to-Peer Systems" at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering of Université catholique de Louvain, Belgium

1997 - 1998: M.Sc. in Modern Techniques in Telecommunications at Faculty of Electronics and Telecommunications, at Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, Romania (TUCN). Graduation average 9.85/10.

1992 - 1997: B.Eng. in Telecommunications at Faculty of Electronics and Telecommunications, at TUCN. Licence examination average 9.5/10.

Complementary Courses July 2001: graduated the 13th International School for Computer Science Researchers; Lipari, Italy. (2 weeks period)

Professional Experience

Sept. 1999 - present: Research Assistant at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Université catholique de Louvain, Belgium, working within different international research projects PIRATES, PEPITO, EVERGROW, E-Next. Responsible of the design of and development of distributed algorithms, mostly for collaborative computing, for LAN & WAN. Involved in network programming and protocols.

2000 - present: Collaboration with, and short internships in, different EU research centers: SICS, KTH, INRIA-Rocquencourt, CETIC.

1997 - Sept. 1999: Research Assistant at Centre for Multimedia Technologies and Distance Education (CTMED), Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, Romania, working in different national and international projects in the fields of distance education, networks, and multimedia. Leader of a team of 5 persons for the development of network applications for distance education.

1998 : 6 weeks technical scholarship in Angers, France, working on a Digital Image Processing project.
